False alarm!

So it’s getting close to Jen’s official “due date” with the birth of Alison.  And looking back to the days leading up to Connor’s birth, it looks like little sister is following in his footsteps.  5 days before Connor’s actual birthday, Jen started having her first series of “serious” contractions.  Enough to keep everyone excited and enough to wear her out.

This started with Alison two nights ago (the wee hours of the morning on Thursday, March 11).  She pretty much had regular contractions (although not very long lasting) starting then and they haven’t really stopped until just a short little while ago.  Needless to say, she didn’t get much sleep that night and she got NO sleep last night.  Poor thing.  She is completely exhausted but is finally getting some much needed sleep.  In her delirium, she was even entertaining thoughts of going to the hospital!  ;)

I fell asleep around 3am in the morning while Ariel stayed up & kept her company.  The midwives were called around 5:30 and showed up at 6:30 to check her out.  All is quiet now though.  Everyone is gone (kids are at babysitters & friend’s houses) now.

We’ll see when things decide to start up again!  Like I said 5 years ago - it’s the baby birth rollercoaster!  Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
