All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go...

Well, with exception to finishing up a regular day's worth of work, I'm ready to go. We don't know the status of the commercial industry down there in Slidell (as far what restaurants are open) so I'm loaded up on CLIF bars, canned ravioli, bananas, Gatorade, Snickers bars and Ensure, basically the same diet regime I would have planned out for Raid the Rock (which btw, I'm not racing in this year).

I got sleeping bags, clothes for the weekend, and the basic necessities for camping out. Joshua assured me that he secured a bunk for me inside a camper that one of his friends is bringing, and there is the possibility of A/C & power associated with that.

It'll definitely be another interesting weekend for sure, and I'm excited at the chance to help out in an area that was badly damaged by the hurricanes. While help is needed all over Louisiana right now, I can't help but feel bad for those who aren't getting it.

For example, Rita deals Pointe-aux-Chenes a catastrophic blow.

I have to remember that I can't do everything I want, and settle on doing as much as I can, knowing that every little effort makes a difference.

I'm taking my camera along again (of course), so stay tuned for the post-trip report...

And if you DO go see Serenity, I don't want to hear one syllable about it.
