I can't even begin to imagine what my "sleep deficit" has accumulated to. According to a well-known sleep specialist, any night you don't get your fully required x hours of sleep (differs for each person, but usually anywhere from 8-10 hrs), you build up a sleep deficit. And according to him, sleeping a good 10-14 hours at some later point does *not* reset your sleep deficit to zero. It only reduces it by however many hours over your "required" time you sleep. After accumulating a sleep deficit over the last thirteen years or more (basically ever since I started college), I'm sure it's easily into thousands and thousands of hours. Instead of adding to it tonight like I have done on an almost daily basis, I think I"ll at least keep the sleep deficit from growing by going to bed now. Bon soir mes amis! Until tomorrow...
